We need office apps. But we want to share docs in social networks, within cloud and mobile environments. This talk will explore the world 'beyond office', and synergies with other Apache projects.

Beyond Apache OpenOffice

Everyone needs a capable office productivity application suite for their deskop/laptops. Apache OpenOffice delivers this solution today.

With this in hand, how does one move beyond? How does one integrate their document workflows within social networks, within cloud and mobile document environments? We will explore options and encourage attendees to more closely examine the opportunities for taking their desktop document methods extending and integrating them in these new spaces.

There are many synergies available between Apache OpenOffice and other Apache projects that hold the potential to offer individual users and businesses the opportunity to take their desktop document authoring and collaboration to a modern level of integration and value creation. The building blocks are available today in most cases, and here within Apache. It's time to JFDI.
